    iTunes Library file is locked

Force Quitting iTunes when it hangs usually results in the following error message when you try to relaunch it:

The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file.

No worries though, three easy steps should get iTunes back up and running:

    1. Go into your iTunes media folder.
    2. Move the files iTunes Library and iTunes Library.xml to the Desktop.
    3. Launch iTunes and quit it.
    4. Move the two files from step 2 back into the iTunes media folder replacing the two files iTunes recreated in step 3.
    5. Done!

Alternatively you can repair permissions using Disk Utility. That usually takes some time though.

Where I found the tip: Cybertechhelp

Thanks to Miss Teen South Carolina of 2007 I was able to find a statement that would summarize what this blog is about; it's about everything, everywhere, like, such as, and, blah. Fullstop. Btw - I'm Max. Read the About page, subscribe to the RSS Feed, read some random post or dig through the archive.

Beam me up Scotty!
